Meet the Administration

Ms. Danielle Todd, WDS Director
My name is Danielle Todd, and as the Director at WDS, I am excited to be kicking off the 2013-2014 school year with you--our fantastic WDS family!  As I complete my first year as director at WDS, I enter my 20th year in education.  I have worn quite a few hats in the circle of education, and feel like this diversity in my background helps to make me a well-rounded director.  I have taught in the private sector as well as in a Title One School in Chesterfield County.  With my masters in Early Childhood Education, I seek out professional development opportunities for our WDS staff that will allow us to grow and move toward higher standards.  By undertaking the process of national accreditation, I have set high standards for both myself and my staff as we begin the 2013-2014 academic year.

In my time away from WDS, I spend as many hours as I can on the water, curled up with a good book.  I enjoy needlework and cooking when at home, and golfing and boating outdoors.  My family is all in Chrleston, SC, and I enjoy visiting there often for Frogmore Stew (minus the shrimp) and a stroll down the Battery.  While other educators may have many loftier quotes than I to share their feelings on life, I stay true to my early childhood foundation and believe alongside Theodor Geisel that the best life is one lived to its fullest.  “If you never did, you should” (One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish).

Ms. Alex Strabley, WDS Assistant Director
My name is Alex Strabley and I am the Assistant Director at WDS! I started working at WDS seasonally in 2008, and then became full-time in December 2010. I graduated from Radford University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations. As a WDS Alumna, this school is near and dear to my heart. I have great memories of being a student here. It’s nice to know that I have the opportunity to be a part of a child’s Westhampton memory. My favorite part about working here is that I get the chance to watch two-year-olds grow and develop into wonderful Kindergartners. Westhampton Day School is made up of enthusiastic employees, creative students, and outstanding parents and that’s why I look forward to coming to work every day!

Mr. Bill Jeffords, WDS Accounting
My name is Bill Jeffords and I serve as the WDS Accountant. I was born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1932 and attended elementary and high school in Birmingham before attending the University of Alabama and Auburn University. After graduation from Auburn with a chemical engineering degree I was hired by DuPont and served in their atomic energy division and textile fibers businesses until I retired in 1993 after 38 years of service.

I am married to Beth Jeffords (the founder and first director of the day school) and have three children, seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren... and with their spouses, it is a crowd at any family gathering.

I have been employed by WDS since 1993 and before that served in several volunteer roles since WDS was started!
